   The probability of getting published rests on three kinds of quality:
   the quality of the ideas at the heart of the manuscript, the quality of =
the
   methods and empirical findings supporting those ideas, and the quality o=
f
   the initial submission and subsequent promotion.  In the first part of t=
he
   workshop, drawing on the book =E2=80=9CHow to Publish High-Quality Resea=
rch,=E2=80=9D
   attendees will learn strategies for discovering research ideas, the
   importance of theory and ethics in research, the use of eight paradigms =
for
   making a contribution, and a process model for publishing high-quality
   research. The workshop will also cover tips for writing the four key
   sections of a manuscript (intro, methods, results, and discussion),
   selecting an appropriate journal for submission, submitting an initial
   draft, and handling a revision. In the second part of the workshop,
   attendees will engage in activities to reinforce the material covered in
   part 1 (e.g., writing a three-paragraph opener).

   Jeff Joireman is a Professor and Chairperson in the Department of
   Marketing and International Business within the Carson College of Busine=
ss
   at Washington State University where he teaches consumer behavior and
   marketing research. Dr. Joireman=E2=80=99s research focuses on responses=
 to service
   failures, temporal decision-making, and transformative consumer research
   topics including decision making related to health, finances, charities,
   the environment and corporate social responsibility. Dr. Joireman has
   published extensively in highly respected journals in the fields of soci=
al
   psychology and marketing including Journal of Personality and Social
   Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and
   Human Decision Processes, Journal of International Business Studies,
   Journal of Retailing, and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and
   has been cited over 9,000 times. Dr. Joireman has also reviewed hundreds=
 of
   manuscripts, served on the editorial boards for several prestigious
   journals, and co-edited the Journal of Environmental Psychology.
